Ban on Students Unions Lifted

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has announced the lifting of ban on Student Unions.
The announcement to this effect was made during his policy speech after taking the vote of confidence from the National Assembly.
First ban on student unions was implemented on February 9,1984 in Zia era which was lifted in 1988 by late, PPP Prime-Minister, Benazir Bhutto.
Second time, Mian Nawaz Sharif banned the student unions and now PPP Government has again lifted the ban.—Online
