Pakistan day celebrated in Berlin

ISLAMABAD—To celebrate Pakistan National Day in a befitting manner an
impressive ceremony was arranged by the Embassy of Pakistan in Berlin,
Germany on March 26.
State Secretary of German Foreign Office Mr. Reinhard Silberberg, Senior
representatives of the Office of the President and Chancellor Angela
Merkel’s office and Chief of Protocol of German Foreign Office graced
the ceremony, says a press release received here Saturday.
Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany Shahid Kamal
said that Pakistan and Germany have bilateral relations and expressed
the hope that these relations would be further strengthened in future.
Ashraf Sharif, a famous sitar player, Shabbir Ahmad Tablanawaz and Amjad
Ali, jamba player played folk music of all the four provinces.
The painting exhibition of renowned Pakistani artist Jimmy Engineer was
also arranged on the occasion. His paintings on various themes including
Pakistan architecture, landscape, Pakistan Movement and Javed Nama
attracted the attention of audience and the members of Diplomatic Corps.
Photographs of state visits of Heads of States and the Government of
Pakistan and Germany from 1961 till date were also displayed on the
occasion to demonstrate a history of Pak-German relations for last
fifty-five years.
The guests were served with traditional Pakistani foods.
Ambassador Mr. Shahid Kamal and the officers of the Embassy briefed the
senior officials of the German Government, representatives of
think-thanks and media, and members of the diplomatic community about
policies of Pakistani Government on various issues.
