Sharifs’ graft case hearing put off

RAWALPINDI—The judge of the Special Accountability Court (AC) Khalid Mehmood here Friday put off hearing in corruption reference against PML (N) Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and other seven members of Sharif Family till May 8.
The learned judge of the Accountability Court No. 4 after requesting for more time by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) deferred the hearing in three corruption references including money laundering, misuse of powers in Hudebia paper Mills, Itefaq Foundry and Riawind land against the Sharifs.
At the start of proceeding, the Deputy Prosecutor General (DPG) Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhutta and Special Prosecutor National Accountability Bureau (NAB) pleaded the court to give more time, praying since there have been no clear-cut directions of the Chairman NAB regarding these references. After the request by the NAB , the learned court adjourned the case till May 8. A 2-member bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) comprising Justice Kaisar Iqbal and justice Mehmood Aalam Rizvi has adjourned till April, 10 the hearing of application filed by the state.
