Development work in I-15 to start next month
By Adnan Raifque
ISLAMABAD—The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will start development
work in sector I-15 in the first week of April as it has hired the
services of a consultant for infrastructural development, a CDA official
said here Friday.
The infrastructural development will be completed by April 2010, while
construction of 8,000 flats will start in October and to be completed in
December 2011, he said.
The official said after submission of design report by the consultant,
CDA will call tender as per the rules and regulations of Pakistan
Engineering Council and PPRA for the development work.
He said, Chairman Kamran Lashari is taking keen interest in development
of the sector so that the growing demand of residential accommodation
for low income people could be met.
Development of Sector I-15, which was launched for the low income
people, was delayed because the contractor who was earlier given the
development task failed to carry out the development work within
stipulated time period.
He said CDA has already called pre-qualification from national and
international firms for construction of 8,000 flats in the sector. 31
firms have applied out of which 12 have been short listed. |
