Inter-provincial gangs busted

CHAKWAL—The district police in a drive launched against the anti-social elements have busted inter-provincial gangs and recovered looted material and illicit arms from their possession. Police apprehended nine dacoits of three inter-provincial gangs allegedly involved in various heinous activities and registered cases against them. District Police Officer (DPO), Sardar Maqsood Khan told a press conference held here on Friday. DSP Saddar Circle Chakwal Raja Tahir Bashir was also present on this occasion. Giving details, the DPO said that a trader Riaz resident of village Jhamra of Kallar Kahar Police station was going to home when five dacoits intercepted him at gun point and snatched one lakh and twenty thousand rupees and two mobile phones from him. They (dacoits) left the ill-fated trader with multiple injuries and managed to escape. Police on trader complaint cordoned off the area to arrest the outlaws. Sub-Inspector Fateh Sher along with heavy contingent of Police assigned duties to arrest the culprits. The team after hectic efforts managed to apprehend Fayyaz Ahmad s/o Muhammad Niaz along with a car bearing No. (LOQ-2853).
