4 women among 7 killed in firing on ambulance

KURRAM AGENCY—At least seven people including 4 women were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on an ambulance here on Thursday. The incident took place in Toor Ghara area of Kurram agency in the northwestern tribal areas.
TV channel quoting said, armed miscreants targeted an ambulance at Peshawar- Parachanar Road in Taueger area near Kurram Agency killing 7 people including 4 women and injuring a woman. Eye witnesses said that local and foreign miscreants have occupied the Peshawar- Parachanar Road whereas local tribes said that government is not taking any action against them.
Suspected militants attacked an ambulance in a Pakistani tribal region on the Afghan border on Thursday killing at least six people, including two paramilitary soldiers, a government official said. The ambulance was taking people to a health meeting when it was attacked with a rocket-propelled grenade in the Kurram tribal region, residents of the area said.
“Six people, including two paramilitary soldiers who were traveling in the ambulance have been killed and two wounded in the attack,” said Zaheer-ul-Islam, the region’s top political administrator. Earlier, a doctor at a hospital in the region’s main town of Parachinar, whose ambulance had been attacked, said there were reports of seven people killed, including two nurses.—Agencies
