PTCL selects Alca-Lu to deliver broadband services

ISLAMABAD—Alcatel-Lucent has announced a multi-year agreement with Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) to deliver its broadband access solution, enabling PTCL to provide high-speed services throughout the country.
Supporting PTCL’s nation-wide programme branded ‘Broadband Pakistan’, Alcatel-Lucent would deploy 100,000 IP DSLAM lines throughout the country, including rural regions and outlying districts of urban centres.
Alcatel-Lucent’s turnkey solution would be supported by network elementmanagement tools that include provisioning, fault management and disaster recovery.
The company would also provide network integration services including project management, application/ software integration, installation, deployment,and testing.—Online
