Water level in Pindi tube wells drop immensely

RAWALPINDI—The water level in the tube wells of the city have gone down immensely and water is found by digging from 130 to 250 feet.
According to sources, there are three main sources of water supply to citizens of Pindi including Rawal Dam, Khanpur Dam and nearly 250 tube wells in the city are also supplying water.
The low water level in the tube wells has also increased the expenditures for installation of tube wells and Rs. 2.5 to 3 million is being utilized on the installation of one tube well. The people said that extra electricity is being used to pull the water from the depth of 150 to 250 feet which also causing additional loss.
The citizens while expressing concern over the situation said that the tube wells have also been sunk by the departments, which have no authority to do that which is also worsening the situation
