Qazi calls for Dr. Qadeer’s release

LAHORE—Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmad has congratulated newly elected prime minsiter Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and lauded his first orders of immediate release of sacked judges of the Supreme Court.
In his statement on Monday, Qazi said release of judges illegaly sacked by Gen Musharraf is appreciable but the prime minister should also have released Dr Qadeer Khan who has been detained much longer than the sacked judges, and the nation has been duly expecting such a measure from him. He said the nation is waiting when prime minister will release national hero Dr Qadeer Khan and restore the independent judiciary.
