Nisar inaugurates new housing scheme

Islamabad—Caretaker Federal Minister for Housing & Works, Mr. Nisar Muhammad Khan said that Pakistan Housing Authority under the administrative control of the Ministry of Housing & Works has launched a new Housing Scheme for low-paid employees of the Federal Government in Islamabad to provide shelter to the employees on ownership basis in the country.
He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a new Housing Scheme for low-paid employees of the Federal Government at G-11/3 here today. The Minister said that 500 “C” type apartments will be built on ownership for low-paid government employees in Islamabad. The Minister said that the Housing Ministry made its utmost efforts to initiate new schemes to meet the shortage of housing in the country.
Federal Secretary for Housing and Works, Abdur Rauf Chaudhry said on this occasion that the government has directed Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) for the construction of 37000 apartments for Federal Government Employees in the country.
The Federal Secretary for Housing & Works said that 500 “C” type apartments will be constructed on ownership basis where a community centre and other facilities will also be provided to the government employees. He said that similar housing scheme for officers of the Federal Government will also be launched in Islamabad on ownership basis very soon.
Earlier, Managing Director Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA), Mr. Samiullah Haq Khiljee briefed the Minister about the construction of 500 apartments in G-11/3, duration, total estimated cost, allocation of land by CDA for the housing scheme.
