Seminar on poverty alleviation begins

ISLAMABAD—Two-day seminar on “ Poverty Alleviation through Employment Generation” started in Pakistan Manpower Institute on Monday.
The objective of the seminar was to acquaint the participants with concept of the poverty its growth in Pakistan, issues and measures required to alleviate poverty and correlation between human resources development and poverty in order to devise policies to improve productivity and skill. In addition, an understanding towards designing poverty alleviation projects has also been provided. A total 18 participants from Federal/Provincial government Organizations, Academic Institutions and also Executives from Private Sector attended the Seminar.
Eminent Speakers from Academic Institutions delivered lectures to the participants. The seminar is going to be concluded today. The concluded function will be presided over by AR Abid Joint Secretary (HRD), Labor and Manpower Division who will award certificates to the participants of the seminar.—APP
