Fahim quits as ARD Chief

ISLAMABAD—President of Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD), Makhdoom Amin Fahim has resigned from its (ARD) Chairmanship. Amin Fahim has announced this after holding a meeting with nominated candidate of PPP for the slot of premiership Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani.
Amin Fahim clarified that the aim of ARD was to restore the democracy and now democracy has been restored in the country therefore I have send my resignation to Secretary General of ARD. Earlier, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani reached at the residence of Amin Fahim after listening the news about non-participation of Fahim in the Parliamentary meeting of the party. The meeting which was lasted over one hour was also attended by son of Amin Fahim, Makhdoom Shakeel-u-Zaman.
The current prevailing situation of country, Parliamentary meeting and matters related to premiership were discussed. Amin Fahim during the meeting clarified Yousaf Raza Gillani that he was not taken into confidence regarding nomination for premiership as saying by Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari and other party leaders. Makhdoom Amin Fahim while talking to media at end of the meeting said that there are no differences within the party.
