Security put on high alert in Capital
ISLAMABAD—Chief Commissioner, Islamabad Hamid Ali Khan said Wednesday
security in the capital had been put on high alert with enhanced police
patrolling as well as elaborate security measures at all sensitive
places to avoid any untoward incident on the Eid Milad-un-Nabi and
Pakistan Day Parade.
The chief commissioner said this after reviewing and finalized security
arrangement for both the events to be held on March 21 and March 23 in
the federal capital.
He directed Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed and S.S.P
Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam to ensure foolproof security arrangements and
keep close contact with milad committees to ensure security.
He further directed that walk-through gates be installed to beef up
security measures. Hamid Ali Khan said checking of vehicles at exit and
entry points had been tightened.—Online
