Traffic Police devise plan for Milad-un-Nabi
RAWALPINDI—Chief Traffic Officer Senior Superintendent Police (SSP)
Sabir Ahmed has said that the traffic Police Rawalpindi has devised
traffic Plan for procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi to be observed on March
21. In a handout issued here on Tuesday, he said, under the traffic
plan, there would be five ways to enter in the procession, adding that,
the central procession would be originated from Central Jamia Masjid at
10:00 am and would be terminated at same point after passing from Jami
Masjid Road, Banni Chowk, Circler Road, Committee Chowk, Iqbal Road,
Fowara Chowk, Raja Bazaar, Dingi Kohi and Bansawala Chowk.
Five Points, SSP Sabir Ahmed added, has been selected from where any
other procession or people can enter in the central procession. The
small procession can join the main procession at Banni Chowk, Committee
Chowk, Fowara Chowk from City Police Station, Dingi Kohi from Helmaten
road and Bansawala Chowk from Ghazni Road, he maintained.
Every type of parking, he said, would be banned on ways of procession
from the night of March 20. Tractor and trolley would not be allowed to
enter in the procession, he said.
Chief Traffic Officer SSP Sabir Ahmed went on to say that the Murree
Road from Rialto Chowk to Chandani Chowk would be closed and traffic
would be diverted to Rawal Road, added, the traffic coming from
Westridge and other areas would be diverted to IJ Principal Road from
Dhok Heso. Every type of vehicle would be banned from College Road to
Iqbal Road, he said. The traffic would be banned from Kashmir Chowk and
City Saddar Road, he pointed out. Traffic Police Personnel would be
present at every diversion point for assistance of road users, he
concluded.
