India releases Pak prisoner

LAHORE—The 29-year old Pakistani, Jamal Qureshi, stepped on motherland through Wagha Border at 6:05pm on Wednesday after his release from Shah Jahanpur Jail, India. Ansar Burni Welfare Trust’s Acting Chairman Fahd Burni received Qureshi from Indian authorities, while Federal Human Rights Minister Ansar Burni and other officials were also present.
Jamal Qureshi son of Nabi Allah of Rohri, Sukkar, had gone to meet his relatives at Shah Jahanpur India on October 25, 2007 but was arrested there on the charges of keeping fake currency. On the appeal of Qureshi’s relatives, Ansar Burni help released the Pakistani citizen from Indian jail. At the border, Qureshi’s relatives told journalists that his (Jamal Qureshi) mother had died after suffering shock over her son’s imprisonment three months ago, while his father was suffering from serious illness.
