No FBI Personnel injured in restaurant blast, says Cheema

ISLAMABAD—Spokesman Interior Ministry Brig. (Retd) Javed Iqbal Cheema has said that no Personnel of FBI was killed or wounded in the blast exploded in the back garden of an Italian restaurant in Islamabad adding that Sarabjit Singh would be hanged on April 01.
The special investigation team is carrying out investigation of blast an Italian restaurant in Islamabad and positive development is expected, he said this during weekly press briefing to media men here in the interior ministry on Tuesday. 4 Personnel of US embassy belonging to legal department instead of FBI were wounded in the blast, he said. The blast in an Italian restaurant he said was aimed to disturb peaceful and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey. Strongly condemning the blast, he on behalf of Pakistan and Pakistani nation expressed grief and sorrow over the death of an Italian women.
The elements involved in terrorist and extremist activities have no relations with Islam, he said, adding that, some element want to disturb peaceful environment in Pakistan.
The political parties, he said, also condemned the blast. Brig. (Retd) Javed Iqbal Cheema hoped that the Pakistan's relations with other countries would be continued despite such terrorist activities. The incoming Government will have to tackle the greater challenges of terrorism and extremism while not only Pakistan but also the whole region is facing menace of extremism and terrorism.
Exchange of information between Pakistan and other countries is underway for elimination of terrorism and extremism, he pointed out. The experts of SAARC countries on terrorism would meet in Pakistan on March 27 and 25 in which steps would be taken for elimination of terrorism and extremism, he said. Sarbajit Sindh, he said, would be hanged on April 01 while foreign ministry is in contact with Indian Government on issue of prisoners. Strict security measures were taken around the Parliament house during inaugural session of the Parliament house, Spokesman Interior Ministry maintained. The elections in the country, he said, were held in fair, free and transparence manner and the caretaker Government has ensured transaction of power. Two Police Personnel lost their lives in Swat bomb attack, he concluded.
