Urs of Pir Makki Shah begins

LAHORE—The annual two-day urs celebrations of sufi saint Hazrat Syed Azizuddin Makki began Tuesday at his astana at Bhatti Gate after Asr prayers. Director Religious Affairs Tahir Raza Bokhari inaugurated the celebrations by laying the traditional ‘chadder’ on the shrin. Auqaf zonal adminstrators and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion. Punjab Auqaf Department has allocated Rs 80,000 for the urs celebrations besides provision of ‘langer’ (free food) to the devotees and visitors.
