Fahim says he won’t betray party cause

ISLAMABAD—President Pakistan People Party Parliamentarian Makhdoom Amin Fahim has said that he did not betray his party and neither he would quit the party Talking to reporters upon arrival at the Parliament House on Monday Amin Fahim said that degrading banners against him were pasted outside the Parliament House and he would take up the matter within the party.
It is pertinent to note that the banner inscribed with, “Benazir Bhutto Kay Khoon say Ghaddari Na Karo, Amin Fahim Bano Farooq Leghari Na Bano” were pasted outside the Parliament building. He said that he had never betrayed the party and his loyalties still lie with the PPP adding that if PPP co-chairman Asif Lai Zardari is a nominee for the premiership than he would not hesitate a second to withdraw from the premiership race. But if anyone else is nominated from the party than I would formulate my own action plan. He said people who had pasted banners against him he would appeal for action against them. Amin Fahim said that neither he is a Leghari nor a Mazari and is just a nominal worker of the PPP and his loyalties would always remain with the PPP. He said all rumours against him are baseless that he is leaving the party adding that he would never leave the party as it is like his family and we have rendered lots of sacrifices for this family.
He said that matter of the premiership should be settled with consultations instead of making it a tug of war adding that he is optimistic that the matter would be settled amicably. He said that some elements are conspiring to create rift between him and Asif Ali Zardari and that is why banners against him were pasted outside the Parliament House.
Meanwhile Makhdoom Amin Fahim went to the chambers of the Leader of the House in the senate Senator Raza Rabbani and expressed his reservations over the banners posted outside the Parliament house against him and said that until these banners are taken down he would not attend the Parliamentary party meeting. Makhdoom Amin Fahim also called on PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Asfand Yar Wali, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif prior to the inaugural session of 13th National Assembly and recorded his protest over the banners.
He also discussed with them about current political development. PPP Co-Chairman assured him that he would take action against elements responsible for pasting the banners. Later on the banners against Amin Fahim pasted outside the Parliament House and around the city were taken down on the directives of PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
Pakistan People’s party Parliamentarians (PPPP) President Makhdoom Amin Fahim has dismissed the rumours of making any forward bloc in Sindh Assembly and said the party would remain united as there is no rift between the leadership.
