Two murderers of TV actress Noor-ul-Ain arrested: SC told

ISLAMABAD—District Police Officer Attock, Tariq Hanif Joyia Monday
apprised the court that both the murderers of news reader/TV actress
Noor- ul-Ain including her husband Aamir Waseem had been arrested and
their challan would be submitted in the court shortly.
The DPO Attock who was appointed head of the investigation team of the
case of missing Noor-ul-Ain also submitted a progress report before the
court through Additional Advocate General, Punjab Qazi Muhammad Amin.
According to the report, the investigation arrested both the murderers
Aamir Waseem who is also husband of Noor-ul-Ain and his friend Zubair as
both of them have admitted their offense.
The body of the deceased Noor-ul-Ain who was missing since January 12,
2004 was also found from the drawing room of the house of accused Zubair
located at Sir Syed Chowk, Rawalpindi as pointed out by the accused. The
Supreme Court took up this case as suo-moto notice on October 19, 2007
on the application of the father of deceased, Syed Qamar Abbas and
directed the Inspector General of Police Punjab to investigate the
matter and submit report in the apex court. The Inspector General Police
Punjab appointed District Police Officer Attock, Tariq Hanif Joyia as
head of the investigation team which investigated the matter of missing
of Noor-ul-Ain and found her dead body as she was murdered by here
husband Aamir Waseem with the connivance of his friend Zubair.
The bench express satisfaction over the progress of the case and
appreciated the efforts of the investigation team. The three-member
bench of the Supreme Court directed DSP New Town Rawalpindi to appear
before the court on Tuesday and apprise progress about the submission of
challan against both the accused. The bench also directed City Police
Officer Rawalpindi to provide complete security and protection to family
members of the deceased as the mother of Noor- ul-Ain expressed
dissatisfaction over security of her family members due to threats being
given by the accused. |
