Arrangements being finalized to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi

ISLAMABAD—All the arrangements being finalized to celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi (SAW) on 12th Rabi ul Awwal 1429-AH (March 21) throughout the country with a view to project the life, Seerah and disseminate the teachings of Holy Prophet (SAW).
The Ministry of Religious Affairs will organize a one-day National Seerat Conference on this auspicious event in the Federal Capital. Prominent Ulema and scholars from across the country will attend the conference and also present their articles and thoughts on the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (SAW). The theme of the conference will be “Inter-civilization and inter-cultural ceremonies and harmony under light of Seerat of Holy Prophet (SAW) “.
A prize distribution ceremony will also take place in the concluding session of the conference wherein the outstanding position holders in the Book Competition-2008, organized by the Ministry, will receive their prizes and awards. Seerat conferences at the provincial, divisional and district headquarters,to be inaugurated by the Governors, the Ministers or eminent Ulema and Mashaikh respectively, will also be held.
Provincial and District Seerat Committees will also be constituted which will arrange the Seerat Majalis. Seerat Writing Competitions will be organized to highlight the teachings of Holy Prophet (SAW) and project his model life.
In this regard, Seerat Books Competitions in National Regional and Foreign Languages, Na’at Books written Competitions, Islamic Books Written by female scholars and Maqalaat-e-Seerat while journals and magazines will issue special seerat number.
Similar competitions will also be organized by the Provincial Governments and the Education Institutions on the life and Seerah of the Holy Prophet (SAW). Seerat meetings and seminars will be organized by the Foreign Missions and by all official, semi-official organizations as well as the Defence Establishment. Public holiday, as usual, will be observed throughout the country on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.
However, the heads of the Educational Institutions will be requested to ensure the participation of students/teachers in the functions. They will also be responsible to hold functions in their institutions. Such functions shall conclude with prayer for the prosperity, development of the country and welfare of the people.
