3 extremists held in Swat

SWAT—The law enforcing agencies here apprehended three suspected extremists during search and cordon operation at Charbagh and Shakardara areas in the restive Swat district, police sources said on Thursday.
After receiving information about presence of militants and extremists at Sakarda and Char Bagh area, the security forces raided the suspected hideouts and arrested accused Usman and Tariq while another suspected militant Syed Amjad handed over himself to the police. On Wednesday, Sub Inspector, Mustafa and constable Suleman of the bomb disposal squad were killed and two others injured while defusing a roadside bomb in Char Bagh in Swat.—Agencies
