428 outlaws nabbed during last week

ISLAMABAD—Islamabad Police have arrested 428 accused during last week and recovered the stolen property worth Rs. 25, 61,000 from them.
It was told to Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Syed Kaleem Imam in a crime meeting held to review the weekly performance of various police Circles. The meeting reviewed the performance relating to high profile cases, pending references, arrest of proclaimed offenders, court absconders and military deserters. The SSP was told that ICT police have arrested 428 accused during the last week and recovered stolen property worth Rs.25,61000 on the basis of information provided by them.
The recovered property includes three cars, two motorcycles, five mobile phones and household items.
It was told that 25 proclaimed offenders, court absconders and military Deserters were arrested in this period. Meanwhile, 231 challans were sent up in the court while 21 objectionable challans were also rectified. During this period, 20 cases pertaining to arms and ammunition were also registered wherein 17 pistols, three 12 Bore Guns, six 222 Rifle and 287 live cartridges were also recovered. In all, 14 cases of Narcotics were also registered whereas 13.635kilograms charas and 264 bottles of liquor were recovered.
In addition, 114 vagabonds were arrested u/s 55/109 Cr.P.C.
The SSP was told that notorious guest house in sector F-10/3 was raided during last week and 53 prostitutes and male accused were arrested. Furthermore, the SSP was told 68 security guards were hired under safe home scheme while 12 security alarms were installed under car safety scheme. The SSP expressed his satisfaction over disposing off 95 per cent pending public complaints, inquiries and references.
During weekly meeting, the performance of Bhara Kau, Shalimar, Sabzi Mandi, Karal, Golra, Sihala police stations and CIA/ACLC was commended.
The Station House Officer of Bhara Kau police station Khalid Mehmud was declared as SHO of the week. The SSP Islamabad said that stringent action would be taken against brothel houses and checking of suspicious vehicles would be effectively carried out in the recent spate of subversive attacks. The SSP directed all SDPOs and SHOs to listen public complaints, initiate required legal action and redress it on merit without fear or favor. He said police officer will be dealt severely in case of any compliant of highhandedness against him.
