Fahim ready to endorse Zardari as Premier

ISLAMABAD The president of PPPP, Makhdoom Amin Fahim has categorically denied about any dispute over the issue of much coveted post of Premiership. While talking to a Private TV channel he said that the executive post of Premiership has been within his reach ever since 1988, but he has always evaded it.
“But currently since, I am the party president, hence I have the prime right to attain the post of PM”, he maintained, while strongly discounting any dispute with co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari over the issue.
Deriding the unnecessary nuance being created over the issue of Premiership He declared that there was “no difference” between party leadership over the post of PM, and the issue has “been deliberately blown to all proportions”, while it has no substance whatsoever. He also regretted that despite giving all possible respect to PML-N leader Khawaja Asif, the said leader had hurt him most with his statement, forcing him to send a legal notice to Khawaja Asif.
He also expressed his disappointment over the lackluster support rendered by his own PPPP, whence he expected a stronger reaction to Khawaja Asif’s statement. He disclosed that, before her assassination Benazir had desired an audience with Afghan president Hamid Karzai, and said that he was present when she had an audience with President Musharraf.
“After the tragedy, I remained in Garhi Khuda Buksh for three days, while on the night of assassination I was in deep grief, by the side of Benazir’s funeral. So there was no chance (no truth in) meeting with President Musharraf at all”. He said that Khawaja Asif has either misconceived or somebody has misled him. Pakistan is passing through very critical time and there is deep need of time to take the country out from crisis.
He further said that agreement between the two major parties of Pakistan to work together is very good sign for pulling the country from turmoil and crisis.
He said that accusations of meeting with Musharraf have been rife, since long however he reminded that when in 2002, General Pervez Musharraf desired to meet him, alongwith other politicians, he did have meeting (S) with President Pervez Musharraf, only after consultations and permission of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan.
He also admitted that he has had meeting with the several peoples with the permission of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He further said that Charter of Democracy has been prepared with the hard work.
Opinionating about the Kalabagh Dam he said that the issue was a controversial one and should be considered according to Provincial consensus.

He further said that he was an integral part of the party and regularly held meetings with Asif Ali Zardari, expressing his regrets about having any knowledge of any element trying to create rift in the PPPP ranks.
Talking to a private television channel the PPPP President said that Asif Zardari has so far shared no such desire with him. “I am unable to understand that what was the need to create a controversy over the issue of PM candidate”, he said adding a non-issue was unnecessarily being made an issue and the entire nation was in the state of confusion.
To a question Fahim said the allegations levelled against him by PMLN leader Khawaja Asif have really hurt him. “I held no secret meeting with President Musharraf “, he said adding after the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto he stayed at Naudero for three days.
