SSP calls for stringent security measures against brothel houses

ISLAMABAD—SSP Islamabad; Syed Kaleem Imam has called for stringent measures against brothel houses. Moreover, he directed Capital Cops to keep a close watch on any suspicious vehicles on the go, in face of recent wave of subversive attacks. On the other hand, he requested the public to lodge protests peacefully so that law and order of the city be maintained effectively. SSP Islamabad; Syed Kaleem Imam, stated these views while chairing the weekly Crime-Control Meeting, here this Wednesday.
The meeting was held to appraise the weekly performance of various circles, in high-profile cases, pending references, arrest of proclaimed offenders, court absconders and military deserters. The report transpired that Capital Cops arrested 428 accused during the past one week. Moreover, on the statement of the arrested accused stolen property worth Rs.25,61000, including 3 cars, 2 motorcycles, 5 mobile phones and other valuable household items, was recovered.
The highlight of the report remained that of arrest of 25 proclaimed offenders, court absconders and military deserters. During this period, 231 challans were sent up in the courts while 21 objectionable challans were also rectified. In the meantime, 20 cases pertaining to arms and ammunition, were also registered, wherein 17 pistols, 3 12-bore guns, 6 222-bore rifles and 287 unshot cartridges were recovered. 14 cases of narcotics were also registered, whereas charas 13.635 kilograms and 264 liquor bottles were recovered. On the other hand, 114 vagabonds were arrested under section 55/109 Cr.P.C.
In the outgoing week, outstanding performance was busting of a notorious guesthouse in F-10/3, wherein 53 prostitutes including male accused were arrested.
Furthermore, safe home scheme/car safety plan 68 security guards and 12 security alarms were also installed in various vehicles. It is pertinent to mention here that 95% pending public complaints, inquiries and references were disposed off.
SSP Islamabad emphasized on stringent measures to be taken against brothel houses while directing for close watch on suspicious vehicles in face of the recent spate of subversive attacks. He further asked all SDPOs and SHOs to listen to public complaints, initiate required legal action and redress them on merit, without fear or favour whatsoever. He warned that any complaint against a cop would be dealt severely. SSP Islamabad; Syed Kaleem Imam told all SHOs to improve their performance while warning of disciplinary action otherwise. He further requested to the general public to lodge their protests peacefully and without resorting to violence.
