26 killed in
twin suicide bombings

Lahore—At least 26 people were killed Tuesday morning and 140 wounded
when two blasts ripped through the provincial capital.
An explosion occurred at the entrance of the 8 floor Federal
Investigation Agency (FIA) Office on Temple Road at 9:27 am killing 23
people and wounding 138. Due to the explosion the entrance of the
building was completely damaged and the cars parked in the parking lot
completely destroyed. The explosion also damaged the structure of the 8
floor building and it is feared that it could collapse at any time.
According to DG FIA Tariq Pervez and one of the receptionists around 200
people were present inside the building at the time of the explosion
including 14 criminals brought for investigation
According to eyewitness said that the bomb was planted inside the
building due to which the building suffered much damaged. However DIG
Investigation Ch Tassaduq Hussain talking to media told that FIA
building blast was a suicide attack and body parts of the bombers have
been located.
He told that suicide bomber driving an explosion laden Toyota Hiace
parked the vehicle at the entrance of the building and than blew himself
up. He told that at least 35 to 40 kilogram explosive material was used
in the blast.
96 of the wounded in the FIA building have been admitted to Ganga Ram
hospital and 42 at Mayo Hospital. Some of the wounded are said to be in
critical condition.
The injured taken to Ganga Ram have been identified as Mushtaq, Kala
Khan, Ayesha, Muhammad Hayat, Shahid, Saifullah, Muhammad Zubair,
Shaukat, Husnain, Jamil, Arshad, Jaffar, Zahid Farooq, Tanveer, Shafique,
Muzaffar Arbab, Pervaiz, Dost Muhammad, Qasim Ali Khan, Sadiq Ahmed,
Zahid Farooq, Shahbaz Ahmed, Abdul Ghaffar, Sajjad, Aamar, Ayyaz Mir,
Ali Ahmed, Ghulam Hussain, Adnan, Shahzad, Ms Anwar, Gulshan, Aneeta,
Osama, Asim Malik, Sadiq Ahmed, Riaz, Imran, Mujeed, Muhammad Rafiq, Ali
Shaukat Ali, Muhammad Zubair, Muhammad Amin, Abdul Ghaffar, Muhammad
Riaz Khan, Muhammad Danyal, Aaqib Tahir, Hassan-ul-Zafar, Raza, Haleem

The other blast took place at Lahore’s Model Town of Block F near
Bilawal House in Lahore in which two children were killed.
A suicide bomber in a car laden with explosives rammed into a building
