PPP grapples to calm sulky Fahim

ISLAMABAD— PPP information secretary Sherry Rehman has said there are no differences between Asif Ali Zardari and Makhdoom Amin Fahim adding both are likely to meet soon.
“Amin Fahim was invited to Murree meeting. A senior leader was assigned this duty to convey this message to him. . There was some communication gap any where. However there are no differences between Asif Zardari and Amin Fahim. Both are likely to meet soon”, she said this while giving details to the media men about the meeting between Asif Ali Zardari and 18 MNA-elect from DG Khan and Bahawalpur here Monday.
She told the newly elected MNAs had given the powers to Asif Zardari to nominate prime minister. Party is not divided over issue of nomination of prime minister, she added. Pakistan Peoples Party vice chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim said Monday that news regarding his contacts with PML-Q are baseless and no contact had been made. Talking in Geo programme (Capital Talk) he said ‘operation goodnight plan’ was only a story and he had never been in contact with PML-Q for formation of government to become prime minister.
“I totally reject such news stories and don’t know about such things. Those who know of such things, can interpret it better”, he said. Amin Fahim said he had been offered prime minister’s slot several times but had refused the offers all together. Asked about supporting the candidate nominated by the party, he said, it would be decided after the announcement of name.
Senior Vice President Pakistan Muslim League Makhdoom Amin Fahim Sunday vehemently denied a news item attributed to him that he has abandoned himself from the race of premiership. Talking to PTV, he said he was still the candidate of PM’s slot.He did not go to Murree as he was not the member of negotiation team of PPP which finalise power sharing details with PML-N.
“This is a wrong news item that I am not candidate for PM’s slot.This is absolutely wrong,” he said. There is no differences in PPP.He wants to make Peoples Party as solid as rock. Hailing PPP-PML-N’s Murree declaration he said always put his energies together for strengthening the country.He prays that both parties successfully eliminating poverty from the country.
President Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Makhdoom Amin Fahim Monday said that he was not invited by his party to participate in Murree meeting on Sunday wherein historic decisions were made by two major election winning parties.
Talking to a private television channel he disagreed with the clarification of party’s information secretary Sherry Rehman wherein she has stated that Amin Fahim was invited through a senior party leader but he failed to convey this message.
