Baitullah’s warrants for BB murder

RAWALPINDI—Judge Chaudhry Habib ur Rehman of Anti Terrorism Court Rawalpindi Division has issued arrest warrants of 5 accused including Pakistani Taliban commander Bait Ullah Mehsud in Benazir Bhutto assassination case.
The other accused persons are Ikram Ullah, Faiz Ahmad alias Kiskat, Abdullah alias Saddam and Ibad ur Rehman. The court has also fixed next hearing on March 18 to indict the already detained 4 persons including Aitzaz Shah, Sher Zaman, Rafaqat Hussnain Gul and Qari Abdul Rashid. The accused had said in their confessional statement that financial assistance, arms and other facilities were provided to them through Bait Ullah Mehsud to kill Benazir Bhutto. The investigation team had made part of challans the confessional statement recorded by the accused before judicial magistrate Chaudhry Taufiq Ahmad under section 164 of CRPC. These persons had been named as accused in the challan. The court had issued their formal arrest warrants. The meeting of the accused with their relatives was also arranged under the directives of the court. The meeting remained very brief. The accused including Aitzaz Shah, Rafaqat Hussain Gul, Sher Zaman and Qari Rashid were brought from Adiala jail and produced in the court under stringent security measures.—Agencies
