SAARC Development Fund meet concludes
LAHORE—The two-day deliberations of fourth meeting of SAARC Development
Fund concluded here Friday after finalizing its charter and by-laws.
Speaking at the concluding session, Asif Bajwa, the additional secretary
finance hoped that the Fund would help improve the economic conditions
in the South Asian countries. He said that eight senior government
officers from SAARCcountries finalized the charter and the by-laws of
the Fund, which will be applicable to the member countries for smooth
running. Later, after the successful conclusion of two-daymeeting, the
participants were taken to the Collator’s Galleria, where they witnessed
the paintings and the sculptures of various genres. They expressed keen
interest in the paintings and admired the work done by Pakistani
artists. They also visited the Lahore Fort and the Badshahi Mosque and
appreciated the efforts of the Government of Pakistan for the
preservation of Mughal Art and Cultural Heritage in a befitting manner.
