Industrial load shedding shocks business community
By Asad Cheema

ISLAMABAD—The Vice President of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zubair Tufail Friday expressed concerns over load sheding announcement by KESC, on daily basis.
“Karachi Electric Supply corporation (KESC) has announced that from March 6, all industrial feeders will be shed from 7 to 11 pm daily adding that is very disappointing for the industrial”, he said. He said this sector is already facing various problems and competitions of international market.
Zubair further said that when KESC was privatized the new owners assured huge investments for improving the transmission lines, reducing line losses and further investment by adding new power generation. “Unfortunately new owners of KESC were miserably failed to keep their promises and electric supply system is becoming worse day by day”, he observed.
FPCCI urged the government to ensure that present owners of KESC either fulfill their promises or improve electric supply or otherwise the company may be handed over the other efficient and financially sound company.
