Trauma Center on Motorway to be opened this year

ISLAMABAD—Inspector General, NH&MP Mr. Muhammad Raffat Pasha Friday inspected the under-construction Trauma Center at Bhera on Motorway and got briefing about project.
On this occasion, the IG, NH&MP instructed the PWD authorities that the project must be completed in time, on which the concerned authorities assured that the project would be completed within stipulated time frame. XEN PWD Muhammad Amin told about the project and said that initially the project was approved at the cost of Rs.13 millions, however, now more place has been acquired and present rates have also been increased.
The IG, NH&MP was told that the project has no provision of residents for doctors and paramedical staff. Therefore, the project has been revised from 13 millions to 36 millions. The IG NH&MP constituted a committee of three members i.e. one person from each department, NH&MP, PIMS and PWD, which will present revised report on project including construction of residential blocks for doctors and paramedics. The NH&MP and PIMS will jointly move the revised PC-1 to Planning Division for approval. The committee will also monitor timely completion of the project. The XEN informed that total cost of project is Rs.130 millions. The Executive Director, PIMS Dr. Abdul Majeed Rajpoot was also present on the occasion. The XEN PWD informed that DPC level of building has been completed and full building would be completed within six months.
Dr. Abdul Majeed Rajput informed that the residents of surrounding areas would also be facilitated by this trauma center. He further informed that measures at the level of PIMS to start the Trauma Center including purchase of equipment have already given priority and the center would start functioning this year. A recreation park would also be constructed on the site. The IG, NH&MP said that residential arrangements for the doctors and paramedics would be managed temporarily in the beat residential camp of motorway police.
