Shujaat fails
to woo Tariq Azeem
ISLAMABAD—President Former Ruling Party PML (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain
on Wednesday failed to convince Senator Tariq Azeem to take back his
resignation. President Former Ruling Party PML (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat on
Wednesday met Information Secretary PML-Q Tariq Azeem to inquire the
reasons behind his resignation.
During the meeting, President Former Ruling Party PML (Q) Chaudhry
Shujaat tried his level best to convince Tariq Azeem but he was firm on
his stance that he resigned citing party’s failure in the February 18
elections as the reason thus will not continue his services. On the
other hand, when Online contacted Tariq Azeem, he confirmed his meeting
with President Former Ruling Party PML (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat adding that
it was a routine meeting.
He told Online that he has quit the post citing party’s (PML-Q) failure
in the February 18 elections thus submitted his resignation on Tuesday
to PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. He hoped that Chaudhry
Shujaat Hussain would accept his decision so that new faces can come in
the limelight. Responsible Sources of PML (Q) were of the view that the
names of Former Federal Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani and
others like Senator Kamil Ali Agha are among the race for the respected
slot, however final name will be announced after consultation of PML (Q)
President with the Central Party Leadership.—Online |
