Mushahid holds EU, NATO responsible for worsening law & order

ISLAMABAD—Secretary General of Pakistan Muslim League - Q Senator Mushahid Hussain has said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are facing the increasing trend of terrorism owing to wrong polices of European Union and NATO.
Talking to a 6-member delegation of the European Union headed by Matjaz Sinkovec in the Parliament House, the Secretary General of PML-Q while talking to media men in the Parliament House said that Pakistan is facing worsening law and order situation after the war on terror.
He said that the situation in the region has been worsened after the start of war on terror in 2001 and the war now has entered into Pakistan. Pakistan and Afghanistan are fighting against war on terror alone, he added. Talking on Iraq issue, he said that there are some issues which can not be solved through force and the people are living in difficult circumstances there. He called for a holistic approach to combat the menace of terrorism in totally focusing on eliminating poverty and injustice from the society. Commenting on the Iran’s nuclear issue, Mushahid Hussain said that war against Iran could further worsen the situation in the region. Mushahid Hussain who is also the Chairman of Senate Foreign Affairs Committee has underscored the need to lay the foundation of a new political culture in Pakistan, shunning vendetta and all sorts of revenge.
He maintained that the recent elections would strength the institutional basis of the Pakistani democracy, adding that for the first time in our history, the winners as well as the losers have accepted the results in good omen.
