Noose to be tightened around vagabonds: SSP

ISLAMABAD—SSP Islamabad; Syed Kaleem Imam, gave directives for tightening noose around vagabonds. He gave these orders while viewing the weekly performance report of various circles, while chairing the Crime-Control Meeting, here this Monday.
According to details, SSP Islamabad; Kaleem Imam, chaired the weekly Crime-Control Meeting, here yesterday. The SSP was presented the weekly performance report of various circle relating to high-profile cases, pending references, arrest of proclaimed offenders, court absconders and military deserters. The report revealed that Capital Cops, during the past one week, arrested 376 accused while recovering stolen property worth Rs.57,93,335 which included 2 cars, 6 mobile phones and household items. Highlight of the action remained arrest of 25 proclaimed offenders, court absconders and military deserters while 4 others were arrested for breaching public law & order.
During this time, 146 challans were sent up in the court while 20 objectionable challans were also rectified. In the mean time, 27 cases pertaining to arms & ammunitions were also registered wherein 19 pistols, 2 kalashnikovs, 2 12-bore guns, 4 rapter guns, 389 unshot cartridges and 2 daggers were recovered. 27 cases of narcotics were also registered whereas 7610 grams and 2622 liquor bottles were recovered, respectively.
In order to curb car theft, 5 teams of ACLC (Anti-Car Lifting Cell), were formed, which would assist SHOs of City area and Industrial Area respectively. It is worthwhile to mention here that 2 gambling dens were busted while 6 were nabbed, accordingly. ‘Safe Home Scheme’ was also launched, through which, 44 alarms were installed at various houses while 35 security guards were also posted. In addition, proceedings under section 182 PPC were also initiated. During the meeting, performance of PS Bara Kahu, PS Tarnol, PS Golra, PS Shehzad Town, PS Industrial Area, CIA and ACLC were lauded. SSP Islamabad emphasised on protection of life and property of every citizen, directing the cops for making it their prime target. In this regard, he immediately ordered for launching a campaign against the vagabonds in particular.
SSP Islamabad; Kaleem Imam, drew focus on improving existing efficiency especially towards arrest of nominated accused, segregating the guilt of innocence while warning of disciplinary action against those exhibiting poor performance.
