Independent MPA support to ANP
PESHAWAR—Independent MPA elect from PF-93 Upper Dir constituency
Muhammad Hayat Khan on Monday announced his support in favour of ANP in
the provincial assembly. Former MMA, MPA and leader of Jamaat Islami Dir
Upper Hayat Khan in violation of the party discipline participated in
the polls as independent candidate. He made the announcement of
supporting the ANP led government in the NWFP at a press conference here
at Press Club. Provincial President of ANP Afrasiab Khattak was present
on the occasion. He said that he has taken the decision for the
development of the Frontier Province and keeping in view the
post-election scenario as majority people of the province had polled
votes in favour of the ANP. “I will work with ANP for the uplift of the
province and for achieving provincial autonomy”, he added. Hayat Khan
while contradicting a news item published in a section of the press said
that he has not joined the ANP but will support it only in the assembly
in independent capacity. Answering a question about his membership in
the JI, he said that he would remain member of the party as he has old
