Corridor-II to be completed soon

KARACHI—Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that completion of flyovers at Nagan and Gulshan chowrangies have suffered some delay because of steel shortage, but by the end of March 2008 all flyovers and u-turns of Corridor-II will be completed and opened for traffic whereafter people could have uniterrupted drive from Sharea Faisal to Surjani. He stated this while talking to media representatives during a visit to projects of Corridor-II and city’s other development schemes at 2 a.m. Saturday. DCO Karachi Javed Hanif, MD Water Board Ghulam Arif Khan, EDOs Works and Services and Municipal Services accompanied the Nazim on the occasion. Nazim Karachi said that city government completed this Corridor at a cost of Rs 2.25 billion in a short period with the opening of Malleniuum Mall, Jauhar Morr and Sohrab Goth flyovers and one level of Nagan Chowrangi flyover for traffic. He pointed out that Nagan Chowranggi flyover has two levels to be constructed at a cost of Rs 500 million. One level has been completed and the other will be completed by the end of March. Mustafa Kamal said that work on Karachi’s development projects is going on round the clock and now city government is focussing on city’s sanitation.
