‘Branding, aggressive marketing of goods must to capture markets’

ISLAMABAD—Branding and aggressive marketing endeavors are vital to compete and capture the attention of international market which would help increase export for a sustainable economy.
President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Tanvir Ahmed Sheikh expressed these views in a meeting with President Canada-Pakistan Business Council Andy Merchant who called on him here Saturday.
He said that genuine and quality products of Pakistan are famous world over and export of these product could be increased through branding and aggressive marketing endeavors.
Besides, textile, the country has plenty of other products like rice, sports goods, surgical instruments and lather products to be exported in international market.
Sheikh said that trade between Pakistan and Canada has increased by 250 percent in the last five years and at present the balance is in favor of Canada.
Major portion of trade covers canola and oil seed which is highly expensive import, he informed.
FPCCI President stressed upon the Pakistani entrepreneurs and Canada-Pakistan business Council to gear up their efforts to fill the gap of vast difference in balance of payment.
“We need to adopt modern trends of international marketing and enhance marketing efforts of branded Pakistani products and also work for better image marketing”, he added.
President Canada-Pakistan Business Council Andy Merchent suggested that a delegation of business community should visit Canadian market and Canada-Pakistan Business Council will arrange their meetings with the Canadian entrepreneurs and also facilitate their visit for promotion of Pakistani products.
