COMSTECH to organize month-long course on
S&T
ISLAMABAD—An OIC Committee - COMSTECH will organize a month long
training course on science, technology and innovation from April 14.
The major objective of the course is to strengthen the capability of OIC
countries in the formulation and implementation of innovation policy,
said a senior official at OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and
Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH). The course is also intended to
develop concepts on the interactive relationship between human resource
development, technology and other socio-economic policies leading to
innovation, the official said.
He said students and researchers involved in development related
studies, science and technology policy research, R&D managers and public
servants involved in planning and management and innovation policy are
expected to benefit from the course. Giving further details, the
official said teaching will be interactive with lectures followed by
discussions and group assignments. Lectures and training will be
administered by national and international scholars invited from reputed
institutions abroad.
He said the COMSTECH in collaboration with Higher Education Commission,
and National Institute of Bio-technology and Genetic Engineering,
Pakistan also plans to organize an international workshop on nano-medicine
here at its Building. This workshop is being organized to provide a
platform for researchers from universities and research institutes of
OIC member states to share their knowledge and develop collaborative
research programs in nano-medicine.
Young faculty members, doctors, researchers and senior students already
working at the interface of nano-science and nano-medicine , nano-biotechnology
are eligible to apply for participation.—Online
