3 killed in road accident

SAHIWAL—Three persons were killed while 36 others sustained injuries in a pile up in which 12 vehicles rammed into each other near here at GT road Sunday morning. According to police, the driver of a speedy truck (LS-9010) applied emergency brakes to save a bicycle riderwho suddenly appeared on the road near Chak no.187/9-L. Meanwhile, a car (LRW-4020) and 10 other vehicles including a coach (LXC-4700), a car (DGM-3472) rammed into each other. As a result three passengers identified as Muhammad Saleem of Agriculture department, Harrapa, Baba Farid of Taunsa Sharif and Kabeer Khan Baloch of Kassowal died on the spot while 36 others sustained injuries. Of the injured, the condition of eight was stated to be critical. Dera Rahim Police and team of rescue 1122 rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to hospital.
