Arif Ayub named Ambassador to Netherlands

ISLAMABAD—The government on Friday announced the appointment of Arif Ayub as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Netherlands. Arif Ayub, who holds Master’s degree in Economics, joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1973. He served at Headquarters as Section Officer (1975-1977), Director (1983-1987) and Director General (1993-1994, 1994-1997 and 2002-2003). He held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Missions abroad including Bucharest (1977-1979), Rome (1979-1983) and Parepun New York (1987-1990). He also served at the SAARC Secretariat, Kathmandu (1991-1993) and as Ambassador of Pakistan to Italy (1997-2000) and Afghanistan (2000-2001). Presently he is serving as Ambassador of Pakistan to Egypt since August 2003. He is married. —Online
