Rs7.7m donated for flood victims in Vietnam

SLAMABAD—The government has donated Rs 7.7 million to the people of Vietnam, where recent floods have wreaked havoc resulting in loss of life and property. The donation is a gesture of goodwill and friendship from Pakistan with the people of Vietnam. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Vietnam G. R. Baluchpresented the cheque to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam. The deputy foreign minister conveyed deep gratitude of the people and government of Vietnam to the people and government of Pakistan for theirgenerous contribution. He said the amount will be utilized to alleviate the sufferings of flood victims in central provinces of the country. Pakistan accords high priority to its relationswith countries of South East Asian region, an important element of its vision east Asia policy. Pakistan enjoys close ties of friendship and cooperation with Vietnam. Political, economic and cultural and other aspects of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Vietnam are progressing at an encouraging pace.—Agencies
