Why Sush turned SRK down

When Shah Rukh Khan asked Sushmita Sen to make a friendly appearance in his star-studded deewangi song in Om Shanti Om, Sushmita refused citing date problems. That angered both Farah Khan and SRK no end. More than half the industry had readily agreed to make a friendly appearance for SRK and Farah. After all they were also complying with the industry’s most powerful actor. So Sushmita should have thought a million times before refusing to appear in this song. It’s not as if SRK was asking for her to do him a great favour by sparing a day or two. Besides, what career was Sushmita talking about when she gave this excuse.
She obviously did not realise how important it is to keep good relationships in the industry. So now she has to pay the price for her pride. According to an insider, Sush declined to appear in the deewangi song because it had half the industry in it and she thought that she would get lost in the melee of stars. “If the song was an item number starring only her, Sush may have done it but she didn’t want to appear one among a huge crowd. So she turned down the offer saying that she was busy.”
One can argue saying that who was Sush to decline when every top star in the industry was game to join in and show their solidarity to King Khan.
It was only recently that Sushmita requested her one time good friend Shah Rukh to do a friendly appearance in her directorial debut Rani Laxmibai. But Shah Rukh replied saying he was too busy. Did Sush really think that SRK would do anything for her after she had snubbed him? And was it not presumptuous of Sushmita to have the guts to ask him for a favour after she had slighted him? SRK is known to remember favours but he is also well known never to forget or forgive.
“Farah and Shah Rukh were very keen on having Sush in the deewangi song. Shah Rukh and Sush had become friends during the shooting of Main Hoon Na. So when SRK asked her to be a part of his film he never expected her to act arrogant. Not for a moment did he think she would refuse him. It came as a shock to them both that Sush could decline their request with such a lame excuse as not having time,” continued the insider. Now came Sushmita’s turn to need SRK to do a cameo in her directorial film Rani Laxmibai. She needed a strong name to give weight to her film and who better than King Khan? She has already made enemies with the other super star Amitabh due to her starry airs.
A source close to Sush reveals, “Sush desperately wanted Shah Rukh to do a cameo in her film. She needs a star name to be able to sell her film to the distributors. But, as expected, SRK replied saying he is too busy to oblige. Everyone is aware that he has only one film currently of Karan Johar which is still in pre-production stage. Moreover he recently had time to shoot for an item number for Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4.” Sush seems to have really angered him and this will be a great loss for her.
SRK is in no mood to forgive. After completing the shooting for a song in good friend Vivek Vaswani’s Dulha Mil Gaya (which he is doing free), he has refused to shoot any more scenes. He has made it clear that he will do no more and insiders say it is because Sushmita is in the lead. The message seems to be loud and clear from SRK —he makes a great friend and a loyal buddy but don’t mess with him.
