NAB drops cases against Zardari, Rehman Malik
By Saad Saud

ISLAMABAD—After pursuing corruption cases against PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for over a decade, the National Accountability Bureau has dropped all cases against him. This comes after a Supreme Court Bench vacated the stay on the National Reconciliation Ordinance.
It was reprieve to Asif Ali Zardari and Rehman Malik under the National Reconciliation Ordinance issued by President Musharraf in October last year. But a deposed Chief Justice led Bench had granted a stay and warned the Accountability Court that cases against Zardari and others can be revived if the Court declares the NRO unconstitutional. Since then the Accountability Courts were hearing cases against Zardari on the ground that they cannot quash the cases unless the Apex Court decides its fate
