Business community to enhance trade with Kazakhstan

ISLAMABAD—A two-member official delegation of the Embassy of Kazakhstan visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Thursday and discussed matters of bilateral trade between the two countries.
The delegation members included Yernur Tuyakbayev, First Secretary and Yerlan T. Danabekov, Visa Counsellor, Embassy of Kazakhstan.
Talking to the delegation members, ICCI president, Muhammad Ijaz Abbasi said that trade between the two countries was extremely low which needed to be enhanced. He emphasized for closer trade and economic cooperation to tap the existing trade and investment opportunities on both sides adding that Kazakhstan could cooperate with Pakistan in the fields of Oil and Gas as it has the biggest reserves of oil and gas in Central Asia. The President ICCI said in Pakistan there was tremendous scope of investment in the sector of oil and gas, infrastructure development, education and health sector and invited Kazak businessmen to invest in Pakistan. He further said that a business delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry would visit Kazakhstan in June to explore the market for trade and joint ventures. He also offered full cooperation of ICCI to the Kazakhstan for the acceleration of two-way trade and investment.
Yernur Tuyakbayev, First Secretary Kazakhstan embassy while addressing the ICCI members said Kazakhstan’s economy was growing well adding that some Pakistani companies have also invested in Kazakhstan.
He said that their government encourages more foreign investment, adding that long-term visas were being granted to the investors. Yerlan T.Danabekov, Visa Counsellor said that embassy greatly facilities in the grant of visas to Pakistani businessmen and ratio of grant of visas has been increasing day by day.—Online
