National Guideline issued for doctors to reduce snake bite

ISLAMABAD—The Federal Health Ministry has issued national guideline for doctors to reduce snake bite induced death ratio and timely treatment of such type of patients.
Under the guideline prepared by Pakistan Medical Research Council, the doctors especially deputed at basic health centres in rural areas of the country have been imparted basic information about treatment of snake bite patients and use of vaccine. The guideline would also be issued to lady doctors health workers also. In this respect, a ceremony was held on Wednesday participated by Secretary Health Khushnood Akhtar Lashari and Executive Director Pakistan Medical Research Council (PMRC). Speaking on the occasion, Caretaker Federal Health Minister Ijaz Rahim said that there are several types of snakes in Pakistan.—APP
