ISLAMABAD—District administration Islamabad has withdrawn detention orders of former president of Supreme Court Bar Justice (Retd) Tariq Mehmood.
Sources told the detention orders of Justice (Retd) Tariq Mehmood have been withdrawn due to his soft stance. In his joint press conference with president supreme court bar association Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan and PIT chief Imran Khan few days earlier he had criticized the decision of March, 9 Long March saying any decision of giving call for Long March will be wrong on the juncture of time when pro lawyers politicians are all set to form government. Any such movement will become hostage in the hands of the APDM, therefore, strike call be withdrawn, he added.
Sources told the statement of Justice (Retd) Tariq was considered at government level and later it was decided at high level that his detention orders be withdrawn. Therefore detention orders were retracted by district magistrate Islamabad, Aamir Ahmad Ali and he was allowed to move freely. —Online
