No room for terrorism, suicide attacks in Islam: Atta

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Khawaja Attaullah Khan Taunsa Sharif has said that there is no room for acts of terrorism and suicide attacks in Islam.
He was talking to a delegation of Markazi Jamate Ahle-Sunnat comprising Ullema & Mashaikh from Punjab and Islamabad led by Pir Syed Muhammad Akram Shah who called on him in his office here today.
The caretaker Federal Minister said that those who are involved in the heinous acts of terrorism and suicide attacks are tarnishing the image of Islam. He said that Islam forbids acts of terrorism and suicide attacks and killings of innocent people.
Khawaja Attaullah Khan said that the Ministry of Hajj had taken necessary measures for the welfare of Pakistani pilgrims during the current Hajj. Moreover, he said that no untoward incidence took place as the government had taken foolproof security arrangement during the Holy month of Muharram.
The Minister appealed to the Ullema to preach tolerance, unity and brotherhood for the establishment of true Islamic society. He assured the delegation that all out efforts will be made for the proper representation of Markazi Jamate Ahle Sunnat in the Council of Islamic Ideology and Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Earlier, the delegation assured the government of their full support, condemned the recent acts of suicide attacks in the country and endorsed policies of President Pervez Musharraf.
