UK Army Chief calls on President

RAWALPINDI—Chief of General Staff of UK Army General Sir Richard Dannatt here on Monday called on President Pervez Musharraf.
General Dannatt appreciated the excellent cooperation between the Armed Forces of Pakistan and the United Kingdom in the fight against international terrorism. President Musharraf recalled the excellent ties between Pakistan-UK armed forces and expressed the hope that the visit of the UK CGS would further strengthen these relations.
General Sir Richard Dannatt, Chief of General Staff, UK, who is on a scheduled official visit to Pakistan, called on Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Monday at General Headquarters here.
He remained with him for some time and discussed the matters of professional interest with particular reference to security situation in the region.
Earlier on arrival at General Headquarters, General Sir Richard Dannatt was presented guard of honour. He reviewed the guard of honour and took salute from a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army.—Online
