Foreign media report on President Musharraf exit condemnable: Memon

ISLAMABAD—Caretaker information minister Nisar Memon has said Pervez Musharraf has been elected as president for five years and the foreign media report about his exit from power is condemnable.
He said this while addressing inauguration ceremony of Pakistan Institute of Broadcasting and Information Technology in Ali Pur Farash and later talking to the media men Monday.
Responding to a question about resignation of President Pervez Musharraf he said such elements are behind this conspiracy who are working under a pre-conceived plan. “We strongly condemn it”, he added. President Musharraf has been elected for five years and statement splashed in foreign media is condemnable, he held. President Musharraf re-launched democratic process in the country after taking over his office. Local government elections were held. He took oath as a civilian president and now ensured holding of elections in fair and transparent manner, Memon remarked.
He went on to say president Musharraf took forceful steps to bring stability in the country besides providing protection to common man. Armed forces, judiciary and president should not be involved in the politics and the people should respect these institutions, he added. President is symbol of federation, therefore his office should be given due regard for the sake of supremacy of democracy, he observed.
