Seminar on awareness and promotion of voluntarism held

ISLAMABAD—A seminar on “ Awareness and promotion of voluntarism” was held here Monday. The seminar was jointly organized by National Volunteer Movement (NVM) and Government Post Graduate College for Women. The purpose of the seminar was to create awareness in students about voluntarism, so that people volunteer themselves for the benefit of society. The seminar began with recitation from Holy Quran by Noreen Asadi and naat by Sundas Naveed, while the National song was sung by Asia Altaf. A senior Professor Mrs. Nusrat Junaid addressing thestudents termed the National Volunteer Movement as a platform to exercise youngsters abilities to help others in the hour of need.
In reference to it, she admired Federal Minister forYouth Affairs Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif who is in this field for the last 18 years. She lauded his compassionate work for the National Volunteer Movement. Barrister Saif sharing his views, said that the progress of our country depended upon the valour of our courageous man and women. He attributed exquisite role the women are playing side by side with men in promotingvoluntarily services in the country.—Online
