Exports in Japan lauds services of outgoing envoy

ISLAMABAD—Overseas Pakistanis in Japan lauded services of the outgoing
Ambassador Kamran Niaz in a farewell dinner hosted jointly by the
Pakistan Association Japan and the local Pakistani community.
A large number of Pakistanis from all over Japan participated in the
dinner at a popular Pakistani restaurant Hunza in Tokyo, says a fax
message received here from Tokyo. Speaking on the occasion, leaders of
the Pakistani community appreciated initiatives taken by the Ambassador
for the welfare of expatriate Pakistani community like setting up the
special camps in the far flung area of Japan to provide consular
services. The function was attended by the senior office holders of the
Association and its regional representatives from Tokyo, Osaka, Gifu,
Nagoya, Saitama, Chiba, Tochigi, Gunma, Niigata, Kanagawa, Ibaraki,
Miyagi and Toyama prefectures.
Speakers said that they were looking forward to the completion of new
Embassy complex in the coming June. The Pakistan Association Japan
Announced that they would arrange a special ceremony on August 14, 2008
and will invite Ambassador Kamran Niaz to award him for his outstanding
achievements and services during his five years stay in Japan.
Ambassador Kamran Niaz expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani
community for its cooperation during his stay and urged them to forge
unity among its ranks. He asked the members of the Pakistani community
to work for improvement of Pakistan’s relations with the host country.
The function, coordinated in an orderly manner and in good environment,
was addressed by more than 20 speakers, who appreciated the performance
of the Embassy of Pakistan during the last five years. They mentioned
the strengthening of relationship between two countries in diverse
fields. Chaudhry Asif Mahmood, President of Pak-Japan Trading Co. and a
former President of the Pakistan Association Japan also hosted a
farewell dinner for Ambassador Kamran Niaz. |
